Creating an audiobook with Indie Audiobook Productions is a straightforward and collaborative process.

Here's how it works:
​1. Choose Your Narrator
​
Start by browsing through the samples of our vetted professional narrators. Each narrator has a sample of their work available on our Find A Narrator page. Take your time to listen and select up to three narrators whose style best fits your book's voice.

2. Request Auditions
​
Once you've chosen up to three narrators, submit a request to order your free samples. To help our narrators provide the most fitting performance, you'll be asked to provide some basic information about your book, including its genre, tone, and any specific character voices you'd like to hear.

3. Receive Auditions & Proposal
​
Within a few business days, you'll receive three custom auditions from your selected narrators, along with a proposal form and a contract. The proposal will include details on pricing, timelines, and the next steps in the production process.

4. Place Your Order
​​
If you're happy with the auditions and decide to move forward, you'll need to provide:

Any pronunciations we need to be aware of,

Character descriptions, accents, mannerisms,

Specific scenes or mood

and anything else that will help the narrator ensure the final audiobook is perfectly aligned with your vision.

To physically start the production we will need:

A deposit (payment 1 of 4) and

The proposal and contract will need to be read, signed and uploaded along with a

All other information in relation to your book as mentioned above

5. Approval Stages
​
After the deposit is made, and all documents received, our team will prepare and produce a retail sample of your audiobook. You'll have the opportunity to review and approve this sample before full production begins.

As your audiobook progresses, we will complete and present one-third of the book at a time for your approval, and with each approval you make at these milestones, you will make the next payment.

6. Final Delivery
​​
Once the audiobook is complete and the final payment has been made, we'll release the final files to you.

You'll receive high-quality audio files ready for download, which you can distribute and use as you wish. Remember, all rights remain with you. We don't retain any share of your audiobook at all.

Flexible Split Payments

At Indie Audiobook Productions, we understand that bringing your book to life as an audiobook is both an exciting and significant investment.
To support our authors financially and foster a collaborative production process, we’re pleased to introduce our Split Payments method.
With Split Payments, you can spread the cost of your audiobook production across four manageable stages; a deposit and 3 further milestone payments, each tied to your approval of the work as it progresses.
This method not only eases the financial burden but also gives you more control and sense of ease over how your audiobook is crafted.
Here’s how it works:
1. Deposit (First Payment):
Your journey begins with a deposit, which allows us to allocate your production team, set up the project processes, prep your book for narration, and start narrating, editing and proofing the retail sample for your approval and the first third of your book. This initial payment gets the process started, ensuring your project is on the right track from the very beginning.
2. First Third Approval (Second Payment):
Once the first third of your audiobook is ready, you’ll have the opportunity to review it. If you’re happy with the progress, your second payment will sign off on this section, giving us the green light to proceed with the next phase.
3. Second Third Approval (Third Payment):
Following your approval (and second payment) of the completed first third of your audiobook, we’ll move on to the second third of your audiobook. After you review and approve this portion, your third payment will confirm your satisfaction and allow us to finalise the final part.
4. Final Third Approval & Completion (Fourth Payment):
The last stage involves the completion of the final third of your audiobook. Upon your approval of the completed audiobook, your final payment will trigger the release of all production files for you to download and use as you wish.

Remember, all rights to the audiobook belong to you—the author—once payment is made in full. Indie Audiobook Productions holds no rights to your work.
